    I could swear the Insight's second generation release coincided very closely with the Gen 3 Prius, which was 2010.

    It was close. The Wiki is saying 2009 as a 2010 model year. I remember it as before the gen3, because Toyota ran incentives on the gen2, or even offered the One fleet trim to the public when the Insight2 arrived.

    Yep, that's my memory, because I was seriously considering a Hybrid at the time.
    It was a late 2009 release, as a 2010 model.

    Build up and buzz around both the "new" Insight and Generation 3 Prius, was about the time I joined Prius Chat.
    In any case, it wasn't 2008.
