Why an ugly(imo) hood deflector and not an invisible Ventureshield?

I can think of 125 reasons. Those would be miles to the nearest Ventureshield dealer.

    I agree whole-heartedly. I got a 3M Clearbra for $350 from dealer. I'm sure I overpaid but I don't care, I got a good deal and hood was protected from mile 4.

Everytime I see a hood deflector now I think about how ugly it looks to me. If you like the look though, go for it. To each their own.

I suspect Clearbra is more aerodynamic than deflector.

That happened to me too (too far away). But then I found a shop installing Ventureshield not listed on Ventureshild's installer site. Phew.

In any case, if not Ventureshiled, definitely consider one of the invisible bra options. Deflectors and colored bras offer poor aesthetics and aerodynamics

Dealers in your area won't carry them...it's a Canadian Toyota part.

    I ordered mine online.

ventureshield looks nice, but no one near me installs this. I have a quote from a vendor, but it is pretty expensive to do the front bumper cover, hood and front edges of the fenders. Wife will kill me if I spenda lot more pimping my ride.....

Everytime I come home, something else shows up in the mail or the car has something else on it.......door mldgs, custom stripe, window tinting, clear mats.

....although, she may not even see the ventureshield.....hmmmmmm:D

    You guys too?
I'm thinking my wife is playing dumb and just letting me fix it up, if so why am I hiding the boxes when they arrive?

I went out to my garage the other day and noticed about 10 open boxes with peanuts.
Some long, some tall, some small. All a lot of fun!!!!!!!

All those with ClearBra or similar:

How long have you had your ClearBra? I was real tempted to get this based on how it looked and the protection. Then I happened to see an older Camry in the parking lot that had one and the ClearBra had cracked badly across its length and just looked ugly. This was an older car and the heat and sun here in Texas can really tear that up. So I'm trying to find out if anyone has had this longer that 4 or 5 years. I plan on keeping my Prius as long as my other cars, which is 10 years or more. I don't want to put something on that it going to turn out nasty in 5 years and can't remove it.

    Let me know! Thanks!!
    Phil

I have read that the older, cheaper products can yellow after 4-5 years. I've also heard that modern quality brands like 3M or the other one (VentureShield ?) should be good for a long time. That's just what I've heard; time will tell.

That's great. Did he have them in stock? Because I heard that the manufacturer was out of them. And may I ask how much he charged you for one?

    Thanks!
