I can get this hood protector for $10. Is it worth the money? I feel it is kinda useless and wasting my $10.

I have that protector on my car plus the one listed in the Prius Chat store because I'm driving 500+ miles/week and didn't want a cloth bra.

    I paid more than $10. :-\

I think they're kind of useless, just me though. Anything that actually contacts the visible painted surface I'd avoid: over time it'll tend to mess it up. By that I mean trapping abrasive grit, or causing paint colour fade to be noticeably different, if you ever remove it.

If you want to protect the hood cover it with protective film but that will cost a lot more than $10.

I never understood the point of these. So you go to sell the car one day and remove it: 10% of your hood looks nice while the rest of the car is worn... Does that really help with anything?

Not the only reason, but my primary reason for installing the bug deflector sold here was to hide a big ding in the hood. It was there when I bought the car and I wasn't going to spend the money to fix it.
