Yesterday my horn started honking when I turned the wheel. At first I thought I had brushed the horn with the heel of my hand, but then I was careful and it continued to honk when I turned. My temporary solution was to disconnect the horns until I can get it to the dealer.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
    Gene

The spiral cable within the steering wheel hub probably has a short, causing the horn to activate.

Yes, the clockspring is failing. Since the airbag works through the clockspring, the defect must be covered by toyota. You should report this on the NHTSA site. They can only push a recall if they know there are field failures.
