Horns replaced with FIAMM 74100 El Grande

The meep meep stock horn on my 17 three that I bought a couple of weeks ago was just plain dangerous. I bought the FIAMM 74100 El Grande on Amazon for $22 as a replacement. It took all of 15 mins to change the horns.

Remove the 5 connector pins from the plastic radiator top cover. The two stock horns are under the plastic radiator cover. Pull up the center of the connector pins and pull the connector pins out. Unplug the power wire connector from the stock horns. Squeeze the connector and pull it off. The arm part that holds the stock horns to the body has two bolts in it. Remove only the bottom bolt. The new horns come with a new arm piece to hold the horns onto the body. The 2 holes in this arm piece are different sizes. The larger hole is where the bolt that holds the horn arm piece onto the body goes. The smaller hole goes on the post in the center of the horn. Secure the arm to the horn with the nut included in the package. Bolt the new arm onto the body with the bolt that you removed earlier. Plug the power connector onto the spade connector on the horn. Angle the horns so they point down as much as possible so any rain that gets into them can drain out. Make sure the power connector wire has some slack in it. Give a final tightening to the center nut. DO NOT tighten this nut completely yet so you can rotate the horn around to its final position later. DO NOT overtighten the nut that holds the new arm to the new horn or you wil crack the plastic horn housing! You do not need to install the relay included with the new horns.

Blow the horn to make sure all is good. This FIAMM horn is not incredibly loud but everone will now hear it when you need to make your presence on the road known. Enjoy.
