How Do I Respond To Polluters Who Laugh At Me?

I'm not sure if driving a Prius would a justifible cause for dismissal to your states unemployment department. So if your boss does fire you. In my humble opinion you would stand a pretty good chance at being able to collect unemplyment. Also a labor lawyer would probably have a field day with this. He how laughs last, laughs best!

 

Well, as far as laughing, I really could give one s*** if somebody laughs at me. Of course, I prefer if people laugh *with* me, but it's nothing worth getting all uptight over

There's an old piece of advice that applies:
"Never butt heads with a goat. It makes your head hurt, and the goat likes it".

In other words, just ignore them

 

My wife keeps mine for safe keeping.

Ask how much they spend on their kids and what are they doing for their kids future.
Oh, you can arrive at work complaining how it bugs you having to stop for 40 litres of fuel every 900km, that will f^*& em. You will be at lunch when they finish doing the conversions.

 

Wait till the price of gas goes back up, as it eventually will, and then see what they have to say?

 

One good thing is to be sure to keep the smug emissions low. Don't get all high and mighty like you're saving the planet. Keep your cool.

Keep it simple, just tell them it does what you need it to do, and it does it very efficiently.

I agree with this advice. I know some people who resemble your coworkers. They don't react that way about hybrids, but they're definitely immature in many respects. I try to minimize my interaction with them as much as possible. I found out it wasn't worth the extra stress to try to be a part of their conversations.

At one point, I started to volunteer at neighborhood community centers and it did wonders for me when I discovered that there were actually nice people around. There's gotta be some good folks at your work, I hope.

I don't see it at all. At work everyone thinks my Prius is fantastic & several people now wanting one. Who says Oklahoma is unsophisticated ! It does sometimes seem people drive disrespectfully to any vehicle smaller than themselves, but can't change that.

As far as people's attitudes, water off a ducks back. He who laughs last laughs loudest.

The fact that his account claims his Prius is on order as Pioneer #3. Come on, people...am I just too cynical? Some V8 usergroup somewhere is enjoying watching the funny Prius drivers come up with how we deal with people like them. Hello? I'm not comfortable being the voice of logic here!

 

Yes, the thought occurred to me that he is very possibly a troll, but at least he's a civil one.

 

I guess the only way to resolve this is wait for the story on CNN, detailing the lynching of a poor Prius owner, somewhere in backwoods, Buttplug, USA!
