How does the Prius a/c work in hot regions?

    Gen II AC runs with the engine off, if the battery SOC gets to low then the engine starts.

    With a regular car AC cooling power is limited at idle because of compressor speed. A GenIII Prius AC isn't limited by engine idle speed.

    Here in Dallas, the best automobile AC ever in my three decades plus of commuting. You know it's good when it's over 100F and you leave the Prius in ECO mode.

    I have the window tint option. That maybe something to think about if ordering.

    Here on the Redneck Riviera, A/C is pretty important.
    Mine also works well enough to leave the car in Eco mode while driving.

    Nuff said.
