Oh yeah, when my son was little, he put stuff down the battery fan intake in the back seat, so I had the dealer clean the fan. Since then, I have gotten into DYI scene and I cleaned the battery fan myself a second time and installed a little cover for the intake that was recommended by The Car Care Nut (great YouTuber btw)

I have 2011 with 153K miles. Car runs great. It does burn some oil (about a quart every oil change) and lately, I get a high temp light every morning on my way to work. I think I just need to flush the system and purge it properly. I replaced the thermostat and only added fluid to the container.

It would be prudent to change the water pump (aka engine coolant pump); it has a plastic impeller that craps out around your mileage.

My 2nd water pump went out Saturday. Started screaming......... took it off and the shaft is frozen.....
this one only had 110,000 miles on it.
Got new pump for $201 at a Dealership online..... otherwise they are over $300 for the real deal.

If you remove the thermostat and it's not hard.......you can see the water flowing (upper hose) into the reservoir at a pretty fast rate.

What I see on the Amayama page. I believe the Aisin is identical; they are showing both. Prices are in Canadian dollars:

Bottom line, the Aisin is about $212 CDN all-in; so far they've never charge me more, say sales tax/duty, just the shipping.

Hi Tim. On 220k Kms now. Oil consumption still the same. Should I be concerned and if so of what! Also now has a constant light squeal from the front offside which increases when braking. Caliper and pads changed but it remains. Still going to drive it until it dies. It owes me nothing at this stage

I'm up to 160k miles on my 2015. Just put new rotors and pads on the back, and regreased and/or replaced some of the caliper slide pins. The were pretty well dried out and a couple were rusted.

Still haven't touched the EGR system or waterpump. I'm probably going to tackle the EGR and spark plugs this fall.

The car has been bulletproof reliable. I've been doing 5k mile oil changes with Mobil 1 Extended Range and OEM filters since mile 1.

Any car I've had has been reliable to well over 200,000 except my v. Better get on that junk EGR system..... I'll bet it's plugged.
Has the inveter blown yet.....? Water pump needs to be changed.....my wp went out at 169,000.... traction battery next....
I thought my v was fantastic till it let me down 4 times...
    Water pump
Inveter 1100 miles from home. toy had it 18 days
    Traction Battery
And then the entire master cylinder and accumulator

Time to sell. The first 150,000 miles are reliable and many of the common defects are covered like the brake booster and hybrid system in carb states. Makes you think Toyota engineering was getting better by 2009. The reality is Toyota learned from their gen3 mistakes and made gen4 solid enough to port into their broader base such as minivans.

What do you think the probability is that my original brake booster would fail after 160k miles? That's the only think that scares me at this point.

70% in the next two years. The brake booster 150k mile replacement program includes all 2015s through Nov 2015 when production of the 2016s began.

80% hybrid battery before 200k miles, maybe sooner as it seems to be age related as well as heat and mileage.

My 2015 is at a little over 66K. The only thing I have done in the 4 years of owning it is oil changes, replaced one tire and just got 2 new front windshield wipers. Not sure what the previous owner did. I am going to drive cross country in a couple of weeks. So far, I am loving this car and like I expected, have not had any problems with it.

You should do a brake inspection. Toyota USA recommends 30k mile or tri-yearly.
