How much? '08 Brake Warning System, ABS, VSC + Master Warning Light on

    Hello PRIUSchat friends--I was driving home from an appointment this morning and suddenly all these warning lights came on:

    The brakes do not seem normal and things generally seem "loose". Steering, braking. How much do you think this is this going to cost me?

    I have had all my maintenance done at the Toyota dealership and I'm guessing this will cost a pretty penny. But I'm also wondering if this could be done elsewhere for less $$?

    This happened to my '08 a year ago. The part cost $1300, and I found a local guy that would put it in for $800. I am fortunate to be mechanically inclined and replaced the recalcitrant part myself. (A weekend of work spaced out over 2 months. ;))

    I also have a 2010 Prius that recently experienced the equivalent Gen 3 symptoms. Toyota quoted $3500. Needless to say, I'll spend another two months doing a weekend's worth of work.
