Here is an example, but I know of nobody who will ship one. Self installed is 1 year warranty. Dealer installed is 3 years.

Since you like quoting Olathe I called them. They are out of stock but doesn't really matter as they do not ship. So it works out pretty good for anyone in Kansas.

Ya. Every dealer I contacted said it would be special ordered with a day or two's wait.

Shopping for a better price will save you a thousand bucks! Spend few minutes finding a dozen dealers, near and far. First: contact the parts departments via email and remind them that the MSRP went down to $1950 in January, to get a discounted price on the battery in writing. Then: contact their service manager for the labor price ... in writing. I found several dealers north, south, east, midwest and west that will do the job, with parts for $2500ish. I found almost no variation on the labor and is based on 5 hours of the published dealer rate, but the part varies greatly ($1625-$1950 is easy to find).

    Are you planning to
    - install it yourself (over the counter price + $1,350 core fee)
    - have it installed by the dealer (dealer service center price for the part plus labor)

Remember that Toyota packs with new cells do not come fully assembled. It isn't just a simple swap in/swap out of a fully assembled unit.

And as others have mentioned, dealers will not ship.

This is where it helps to be part of your local car enthusiast community. You can probably get close to that Olathe Toyota price if you know someone in the parts dept of a local-ish dealer - an aquaintence of mine gets me within ~15%. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone to refer you to on the East Coast.

You might try Miller Toyota in Manassas Virginia. I know they have some good sales staff there. I have not used their service department though.
Sam Lee is one of their top salesmen and a Gen 1 Prius owner.

What is the point of this comment in this thread?
    1) Have you used their parts department? For an HV battery? At a specific price?
    2) Has this new car salesman ever helped you (or anyone) to buy this battery?

I believe the OP is in Virginia and looking for east coast options. I mentioned a business that has treated my family and me well for many years. As previously stated we have not used their service department because we live 150 miles away.

Beware the costs that don't include dealer install. The lower prices not only don't involve shipping, but to get those prices, you need to pay that particular dealer to install it. That's how they are able to offer low teaser prices.

For example, the best deal I've seen is in post #6 in KC. But it's not $1,625 under any circumstances because you must pay them $600 for install- so it's $2,200. However, the cost of transporting your car to and from KC will eat up any savings.

Also, there is a core charge of $1,350, which will be refunded if you have an untampered OEM battery in place.

No you do NOT need to have the dealer do the install. Every place I quoted was willing to sell to me for DIY. I was very specific about that. Oddly, it was a few of the highly overpriced dealers who refused to sell to me for DIY. Having said that: $2200 is a helluva deal for a time-tested Toyota battery, with a genuine Toyota install and a reliable Toyota 3-year warranty!!!

I hope you end up being correct. I'm strictly talking about the dealership in Kansas.

We discussed this price and dealership last month in another thread. I called this specific dealership on April 9th and they were very clear about the dealership doing the install for ~$600. Again, it is the lowest price that I've seen, but it's ~$2,200. I copied my post from the other thread below.
