It should be a constant. My Kill a watt is broken. I've seen figures of 3 Kwh? Is that accurate? Gas is cheap. I want to re-figure costs. I saw the year old thread on this.

Yes, about 3 kWh. Battery capacity charged is 2.73 kWh but there is charging loss.

My EV economy was 138 MPGe. I pay 18 cents/kWh. Gas will have to climb to $2.10 for cost parity. Gas now is $2.09 here.

I don't think that you can charge a deleted battery.

You can charge a deleted battery with a wireless remote.

CA has highest cost of gas in USA, if you look at GasBuddy.com, and that high cost was true even before the refinery incidents (see my Gaso Price Heat Map post in FHoP). Part of that is due to summer fuel coming back in CA, and part of it is probably other factors such as new carbon taxes. One way to look at it, using elec helps to keep the gaso price down in CA by easing the supply shortage out there.

of course, it depends on the state of discharge.
