yesterday I picked up concrete blocks at home depot to make a raised garden bed. I put them in the boxes to prevent any damages in my Prius and could load 10. I had to drive on some curvy roads and it made the blocks bump on the plastic sidings. After I got to home I couldn't hide my sadness when I saw the side moldings were damaged by the blocks as you can imagine. Well... What happened is what happened. Now I don't think I will take care of the car as much as I did to keep it looking new.... Sad...

Keep a mover's blanket in the back of the Prius to provide some protection to the easily scratched plastic surfaces. Live and learn.

I'll trade you. My bumper's so messed up (along with other scratches and dents), but the only thing that matters is it gets you from point A to point B.

If you have a problem and it really bothers you, fix the problem. Locate a auto recycler/wrecking yard in your area and inquire as to if they have your year. Get needed pieces. Remove and replace. Vow not to be stupid again. Problem fixed.

I have a Subaru Outback that smells like the package of uncooked Chicken Wings. They were left behind after the other groceries went into the house.

I also had a Nissan Pathfinder that smelled like an overturned Ice Chest full of Melting Fish(Salt-water)

    You got off Light.

If you are talking about scratches, like where the plastic is now sort of whiteish where it shouldn't be, this is really easy to hide. Armour-All and all the other "make plastic shiny and new" bottles you find at every WalMart, auto store, grocery store, wherever do work. They smooth out and fill in the scratches with essentially a wax (almost always synthetic) that makes the light not show that scratch but just the colour around it. Human eyes are crap and this fools us really well.

Do keep in mind that some of these synthetic materials make the plastic looks oh so awesome, for a few weeks. Then it starts to dull, and the entire thing starts to look poorly. So then you reapply. Once you start using it, you pretty much have to keep using it to maintain the finish. But the results are impressive. I use it in some of my more showy vehicles everytime before I take them out on the road, makes them pop.

That's right. I didn't even allow my kids to step on the car with shoes for a few month after buying the car and have washed it every other weeks.:( But well no more worries.

Done the exact same thing. $3K damage on the prius, a little less rust on the pickup bumper.

Sure was awkward reporting it to the insurance.
