with a score of 92, the regular 2016 Prius (not prime) often tells me that I did 112 (or some 100+ number) mpg over 6+ mile trip. I always take those as a jokes
You usually get that when your engine is warm and the HV battery is almost full at the start of the trip. You'll probably find that you got 45 mpg on the previous trip or will do on the next trip.
not really. it was always the first trip of the day since last trip ~24H ago and HV battery starts out 2 or 3 bars only more like if you keep speed with pure electric on highway/expressway, the mpg calculation is really funny/inaccurate overall, I find mpg calculation is ~5mpg more than odo divided by fuel re-filling
This is the closest I have gotten to a nearly perfect score. I had a 3 hr drive the other day across the state
Traffic was highly cooperative for a change on the way home last nite. 17.5 miles at 50-55 mph with 19 traffic lights. I somehow managed a 95 without really trying. Over 85 on that route is super rare.
Another long drive today & I got a 82, it's hard to get a perfect score. It's nice getting nearly 60mpg compared to my last car where I got 30-32 mpg.
though on regular non-plugin (not Prime) 2019 Prius, attached are what I'm talking about. the trips before and after these were 85+mpg. However, the overall mpg over odo is just merely 65mpg
