How to - install Cruise Control on Prius C 2016 model

As far as I know the One is the only version that did not have cruise from the factory. The One has a one-piece rear seatback instead of the 60/40 split folding seatbacks, that's usually the easiest way to tell.

The factory cruise control is operated by way of an extra stalk on the steering wheel, right side low so I'm not sure how you'd repurpose keys on the wheel face.

Rostra makes a kit for the c One. It's easy to suggest that an improper installation would cause damage but I don't know how someone would be able to back up a blanket statement that an aftermarket kit always causes problems. From other threads I got the idea that there may be a flaw in the installation instructions, but I bet you'd be able to get details with just a few searches.

I've installed a Rostra cruise kit in our Hyundai and it included a new universal control stalk.

 

Afaik, you just need to install the stalk and the computer already is set up fo rit.

 

If this is true, that would be better than the Rostra kit.
