My 2010 Prius has minor damage at left front bumper. The very end of it facing the ground is broken off. Its an irregular shaped area of the bottom edge, maybe 10 sq inches is gone. Are these bumpers made of abs plsstic? If so i could get a piece of abs from ebay. Glue on a piece a little bit bigger than the broken-off area. Then bondo to original contour. But would a body shop be willing to paint to match just the repaired area, or would they want to paint the whole bumper?

Ask a body shop or 3.
I think that a used bumper from a salvage yard would be better.
OR a "new" bumper (cover) through an independent body shop.
You might be surprised at the low cost.

I don't know where you live, but here in Southern California, we have a lot of bumper repair places with most of them being mobile. They specialize in bumper repair and do an awesome job. Had work done on all my cars, included a bumper that was "speared" by a crow bar. When they are done, you can't tell it was damaged. Pricing ranges from $100 to $400, depending on work. I would google "bumper repair" and see what comes up in your area.

Regarding "facing the ground", is this portion even visible, say if you're standing beside the car, or would you need to get down nearly to ground level to see the damage? If so, the repair could be just utilitarian?

Regarding "10 sq inches is gone", you don't have the broken off piece, it flew off somewhere, lost?

    Could you post some pictures?

I can confirm the bumper covers can be cheap. 58.00 for the front and 50.00 for the rear. Dallas TX area. Couple of weeks ago something flew of of an oncoming 18 wheeler and took out my lower grill and front bumper. Truck did not stop and I did not want to take a chance chasing it down till I was sure more driving would not do further damage.
I already had a boo boo on my rear bumper from backing into out travel trailer hitch in our driveway. most expensive part is the paint, primer, and clear coat at 178.00 That I will do myself. Still cheaper than the 500 dollar deductible.
Funny thing is the bottom corner of my front left cover was broken off too. You also said it "faces the ground." I am not 100% sure but there might be a small piece that connects the end of the spoiler with end of the bumper. I have not taken my car apart as it is still drive-able. I could not find anything on the online diagrams when I ordered my parts. The part i am referring to is black plastic and is viewable only from under the car.

If you had a front camera, you could have gotten the license number and called the highway patrol.
It might be hard to tell if something fell off the truck, or it ran over something that was already in the road.

Maybe the one from the E-class could be adapted to fit.
