Hey guys! As many of ya'll know, the north and the South has had a lot of cold weather lately (not to say other places haven't! ) and my gas mileage reflects that. My poor prius has been covered in 2 inches of solid ice, inches of snow, cold windy weather how I hate you! My average mpg is sitting at 42.5 for the last tank. Worst I've ever had! So what's yours? Stay warm!

If it's really cold in Nashville and I imagine that it is, you are doing very well for winter mpg.

My is down to 37 on the last tank. It's been holding at 48 for about a month. No plug-in for the past month.

Right before I traded in my gen2 last week, I was averaging 46mpg per tank... Now that it's been in the single digits and double negative digits, my new-to-me gen3 is struggling to maintain 44mpg

Hey that ain't bad! Keep Up The good work. do you let your ICE start before driving away? I always do when its in the teens or single digit's. Well actually I almost always let the car run for a little bit in the winter before I pull away

The last four tanks: 4.8 (liters/100 km), 4.8, 5.0 and 4.7. That about one fillup per month, running on Michelin XIce2 195/65R15 on steel rims right now, they seem to come in neck-and-neck with our OEM Michelin Pilot 215/45R17 on OEM rims. We have had a VERY mild winter though. So say average 4.8, translates to 49 mpg US. Calculated.

My immediate goal is to push the 5.0 icon below down to 4.9, with +90 fill ups it's proving hard to budge.

It's been rather cold in the UK this year, but I've been had 55 mpg (45.7 mpg US) and 53 mpg (44.1 mpg US) per tankful, for my last fill ups. I presently have 56.7 mpg (47.2 mpg US) showing on my screen for the last 80 miles from fill up. This is from commuting to work 5 days a week. All UK mpg readings are Imperial Gallons of course. :)

Indeed! I never forget that at this time of the year, while other drivers are suffering truly appalling MPG figures, all Prii owners are laughing all the way to the bank with amazing savings on the cost of fuel. My commute to work and back is a total of 36 miles a day, 5 days a week.

Ain't that the truth! even when our prii get "bad gas mileage" it's still amazing compared to other cars and SUVs. If I get the job I interview for Monday I will be commuting almost 50 miles each way. thank God I have a Prius :)

Oh lord! Trust me too many people are sliding through here already. Literally my stop sign at the end of my road is gone :( Today it was horrible because it warmed up and rained a lot, now all the snow and ice on the sides of the road blocking drainage =river of slush. Would much rather drive in VA right now!

I guess you could say we're all ready for spring. Nothing like a hybrid in the spring! *dreaming*

We are getting really lousy MPG this winter maybe 35 worst ever and its because our life style has changed to 2-3 mile trips around town. Not to mention the colder than average Polar Vortex winters we keep getting lately in the Northeast. My wife and I probably need to trade cars once a week so I can at least take the Prius 8 miles once in a while. I am worried just going 2-3 miles all the time may never allow the 12v to get a full charge.
