    In Adrain Black's XGauge spreadsheet is a parameter called "BFM" or Battery Cooling Fan Mode with the possible values of zero through 6 to indicate the cooling fan speed. I would like to use BFM as a proxie for monitoring the HV battery temperature with my SGII.

    There is a National Renewable Energy Report (2002-01-1962) on a MY2000 Prius which uncovered the following about the HV Battery cooling fan;
    • blower speed low starts at 96F and stops at 91F
    • blower speed medium starts at 107F and stops at 104F
    • blower speed high starts at 122F and stops at 118F
    I would like to know how the 6 possible GenIII fan speeds relate to the battery temps in this manner.
    Anyone see any data/info along these lines?

    Sorry, i'm spanish.
    Data from my obdii datalogger (temperature in Celsius):
    36C - speed 1
    38C - speed 2
    40C - 45C speed 3
    50C - speed 4
    ...
    I have no data for temperatures over 50C on HV battery.

    Salu2.

    Ah, some data. Looks like you are saying;
    • blower speed 1 starts at 97F
    • blower speed 2 starts at 100F
    • blower speed 3 starts around 104 - 113F
    • blower speed 4 starts at 122F
    Which is fairly consistent with the data from the 3-speed fan.

    Gracias, Motoleon!
