I recently came across these 2 interesting videos on youtube and wanted to get your insight as both ways of doing such procedures seem away from what most people actually do and in months of researching and watching videos on these 2 topics, I had never seen it done this very apparent “EASY” way to load test and the other to balance a battery. The 1st is this video where the guy uses a Viking 12v Battery tester to test each battery cell under load. My only concern is what some of the comments say, that the tester is not rated to be used on NiHM batteries and instead 12v lead acid, agm etc. So they question the accuracy of the reading. The second interesting video I came across is, this one where a guy simply connects all the Negatives together from one side then the next and then the positives together to finally join them to form a loop. He says leaving them this way would “balance” the system and he apparently showed the end results showing all cells at similar voltages. He ultimately offers his wiring kit for sale on eBay too. Please share your thoughts as these both ways seem to be unconventional hence the Prolong and Maxx volts system and people using those to “balance" their batteries but at a cost 10+ times more than the Viking tester and the balancing harness/wire kit fixnflip sells.
