I just bought my second Prius and I'm still confused as to whether hybrid components are covered under the 100,000 (battery) warranty, the 5/60 powertrain or the 3/36 'everything! Is the power split transaxle a part of the drive train or hybrid system? Are the the inverer and motors under the 5/60? No answers are definitive that I can find!
    Thanks

    Inverter...yes.
Transaxle...I don't think so, but am open to correction on that.
    MGs...Yes.

Must be a really tough question! I can't get a straight answer form the Toyota dealer mechanic either.

from what DH recalls, the entire transaxle unit is powertrain. (psd, mg's etc, everything contained within the trans housing.)

the hybrid warranty covers inverter, battery pack, and associated ecu's (hv and battery ecu).
