    Once the engine stops, you are no longer getting miles per gallon.
    I would like to see what it is actually getting, only while the engine is running.

    With fourth gen the engine is a lot more apt to shut down, my sense, just from what's been said here. Even cold starts (presumably on warm days), owner's are routinely driving electric-only for some stretch before it kicks in, not the mandatory warm-up like third gen. Hopefully not 4th gen's Achille's Heel.

    Easy, park directly under the sun during the summer for 8 hours windows all up. Put car on ready, the hv should go into protection mode and reset trip A or B counter. Put car in gear, you’ll be purely on ICE while driving. Prepare to be notified you’re number one with finger gestures.

    MIne is parked in the sun all day. And it's never run on the gas engine only.
    Why would it go into protection mode? Cars sit in the sun in Florida all the time.
