Hybrid system not cycling normal after head gasket replacement

I changed a leaking head gasket myself, took me a couple months to complete. I cranked the car in Maintenance Mode to effectively burp the coolant system (great info from this site btw) then just turned it off like normal once done. All seemed good however it seems when driving that the gas engine comes on more frequently than before the repair; it isn’t running long on electric power before the system switches back to gas power. No warnings or error codes, just seems that something is not set right, it barely uses one bar on a full battery then switches to gasoline. Anyone had this issue before? Any suggestions on what might be wrong?

It is a 2010 model II with 306,000 miles.

Actually the battery is only 2 years old, replaced by a Toyota dealership by the prior owner. Thanks for the reply!

 

Yes. My thought was was there something special I needed to do to exit the Maintenance Mode or just turning it off was normal. Should some other programming sequence be used after doing that mode? This is area I lack any experience in. Thanks for your input!
