No, I don't think the seats are heated. Prius is not a luxury car even though there is plenty on the technology side. It does not have any fancy features such as separated temperature control between driver and passanger, no up and down/stiffness adjustment on the seats, it only has very primitive seat adjustment (only forward and backward). You don't have retractable steering wheel, you can only adjust the steering wheel up and down etc.

Yup, that's exactly the same as the 04/05 Prius.

kinged, thank you very much for being the first to post about their '06! :)

I know you won't be posting more pics until tomorrow, but was still curious about your NAV DVD version. You can check it by pressing the 'MENU' button, then "Map DVD". You should see the version number at that point.

    Thanks! :D

PICTURE REQUEST: A nice picture of the MFD showing a back-up camera view - preferably of a hot sister or girlfriend  . . . just kidding. Any picture will do.

I suspect that someone will soon be asking you for a virtual reality picture tour. :p

    Thanx.

I agree. It looks a lot prettier than the '05s silver.

Also, I think this might have been brought up, but - does it seem like there is less wind noise like on the freeway compared to the 05 Prius? If you have never been in an 05, what do you think about freeway noise in the 06? Is it pretty reasonable inside the cabin? Thanks as always! :D

    Kinged,

Do you ever feel like you were just elected president of the PC forum by an unexpected landslide vote and that you are now blindsided by the press?

You're holding up well, you can do it.

Rule of thumb. Start snapping pictures and posting as many as possible. We could never get enough.

    :D

Just wondering, does the gear shift look like it's shifted a bit from the 2005? (higher?) Can't really tell. Otherwise the interior looks pretty much the same. Congratulations. Around here a friend was told she'd have a 4 month wait for an '06.

Awesome! Thanks for the pictures! Maybe I'm blind but I still don't see where Toyota mounted the rear camera on the car.

The resolution on the navigation screen looks like it's double that of the '04/'05 screen. It's much sharper and not pixelated.

I am very impressed with the new MFD and user interfaces. Nice! B)

I too would like to add a request for the version number of your NAV DVD. I'm curious if just the user interface changed, or whether it is using new NAV data as well.

By the way, THANKS for all you've done for us! :D

    Thanks for the pics!

Have you used your Mp3 player yet? Does it show up on the display? Can you change songs using the steering wheel controls?

    Thanks.

I last test drove the prius back in August, and I did not even get on the freeway at that time. But I am quite impressed with 06 prius. It is relatively quiet, and accelerates better than I expected.

    Q:

A: The map version is .05.01, so I guess it should be the same as the 05.

Q: Have you used your Mp3 player yet? Does it show up on the display? Can you change songs using the steering wheel controls?

A: Unfortunately, when I plug my MP3 player to the aux port, it only shows aux port is in use. You control everything via your own player. The CDs with MP3 will show folder and files names, but in manual it states only works when the car is parked. I have yet to test it. I will let you know.

You can change songs using the steering wheel only if songs on CD, not MP3 player.

Thanks for the NAV info! :D Now, if I could get just one more thing... could you photograph the coverage screens and post them to the link below? Whether the coverage is the same or not, I'd love to see an '06 represented in that post. Also, there is a small question of what database they used, as you show a 5.01, and I have a 5.1. But even if they are the same, it'd be cool to have an '06 represented.

    Thanks, kinged!! :D
