His cooler is the parasite, draining both the main and auxiliary batteries in his incorrectly adjusted battery-isolator setup. He had some failure before the cooler, too, apparently, which could be due to some other issue.

“My dealer blamed me for causing it. One even replaced the battery, but the problem remained.

Several trolls on this channel have claimed that I caused the problem myself,”

So, the dealer is on PriusChat?

So says our all-knowing resident expert on everything.
I'd say it's a combination of poor reading comprehension and an inability to admit being wrong.

that is concerning. i recently purchased a jump pack and tossed it in the back, thinking it would not discharge.
any idea how long since the last time you charged it?

Lithium-ion batteries self-discharge up to about 4% SOC a month. You are also not supposed to store them fully charged. So, you should keep them about half-charged and charge every six months to about half charge.

Since the cooler drains his battery everyday, he probably needs to use the booster almost everyday. Why wouldn't he use the 120-V outlet on the car but the 12-V battery instead to run the cooler is a mystery to everyone on this forum.

i'm going to have to put a chart on the garage wall, and store the pack in a more convenient area.
maybe it will fit under the seat.

I would have to estimate that it only took about a month to lose its charge.
Now, I'm running the charge cable to a USB port, so it can charge continuously while I drive.

I've had a lot of devices with lithium batteries. Some discharge themselves in a few days and some last for months or years with a full charge. "4%" is just made up nonsense.

Despite the learning curve being steep, need to learn the difference between self-discharge and load discharge along with many other technical things.
