I let my reliable Prius 2010 and my leased Leaf 2014 go for a Tesla S60, any question ?

As the title says, I replaced both my reliable Prius 2010 and my leased Leaf for a Tesla Model S, the cheapest I could find in Canada.

I still have my reservations on the Model 3 but I will probably not buy it. I went with the S60 for a few reasons:
    - I wanted a hatchback as big as the Prius. Model 3 is ridiculous.
    - I wanted more kWh than my Leaf.
    - I was seduced by the Supercharger network and the fact that the Tesla can plug at any charging station, unlike the others.
    - I was bothered by the 10000$ I would still need to pay for the leased Leaf that would just get lost.
    - I had the go ahead from my wife so I didn't want to miss my chance.
    - I had a great deal for a S60, 17000 CAD$ cheaper than any other Model S in Canada.
    - Model S has historic data for reliability and battery degradation unlike any other 200 miles range EV coming next year.

I know that the Tesla Model S is really not in the same league as the Prius regarding reliability, but I took the chance. With CPO I still get the 4 years bumper to bumper warranty starting now.

If I could afford it I'd do the same thing. The thing is, with the preorder, you might not get a Model 3 until the next decade anyway. You'd have a good 3-4 years on the CPO S60 anyway.

$17,000 CAD ( = $578.00 American $ :) ) sounds like a great deal, how many miles are on your S60 and what kind of range are you seeing in these summer months?

If you come in Quebec I'll be glad to offer you a ride as I already had for a few guys already :) My uncle rode it for 30 minutes and he wants one so badly now!

48000 km. I can reach 300 km running eco friendly. During the week end I had good consumption at different moments (150 Wh/km). The battery has already lost about 7% capacity. 578 $ ?

Is it one of the later model ones that's simply software limited / where you can upgrade over the air to 75?

Any reason you went with a S60 instead of an S85 besides availability?

One slick thing with the newer S60 is that they have larger packs which are only software Limited. So they can charge to their technical full capacity at the higher power rate - as opposed to the larger packs - which would otherwise taper off using the full capacity. And if you ever decide you actually need the full capacity, you can get an over-the-air upgrade in no time short.
    Pretty sweet .

I could not resist the deal that the seller offered me, it was 20000$ cheaper than any other S in Canada and it was a CPO.

Ahh . . . . yes, the old term was simple 'used'. Just one syllable. Not nearly as fancy schmancy

CPO is certified Pre-Owned by Tesla. Warranty is "reset" to 4 years bumper to bumper. Warranty for the battery and motor remain the same 8 years from factory.

Well there's a difference between "used" and "certified pre-owned" lol.

A CPO is generally a newer car (less than 5 year old) and average mileage (less than... 75,000-80,000 I think). It is a certified by the dealer owned by the same manufacturer to be in good condition. (i.e. only a Toyota dealer can CPO a Toyota vehicle) It gives buyers a piece of mind that the vehicle is in good condition with no hidden issues. It's usually sold with a warranty (typically 1 year/12,000 miles) and of course CPO's are a bit more expensive than "as-is" used vehicles.

One feature that the newer 60's have is a 75kWh pack (it's just software limited) which can be over the air updated (for about $5K) so you can utilize the extra 15kWh's of juice (ie; about an extra 40 miles of range). Tesla just raised the price of the 60 about 4 weeks ago. ($2,000) . Is yours a 60D? .... or rear wheel drive only.

Rwd, D didn't exist in the time it was built. Also check electrek, they reported that you will not get 15 kWh , it's less
