I forgot exactly when I last put fuel in-- I believe when I last returned from an out of state drive in April. I still had 1/3 tank but I am again leaving on a long out of state drive.

Impressive!! (y) I don't think I'll ever manage that. I drive too much. I'm averaging about 1,500 miles per month since I got the PiP the end of last December. Been filling up twice a month every month so far. But it might take three times this month. I last gassed up on Aug. 4 and I'm at 2 pips on the gauge now. Looking at my schedule, I'm pretty sure I'll need gas sometime this weekend. Will I make it to September on that tank? do not know. But I really can't complain about my average gas mileage under the circumstances.

I finally broke my own record - by a bunch!

953 miles on the tank when I filled it Saturday. I might have gone father, but the last pip was blinking and I don't like pushing it. It took about 8.1 gallons to fill it. Beat the old record by over 100 miles. Not taking any trips of more than 50 miles stretched the tank out to more than a month. With my driving patterns, that was a big win.

    Why?
You have the HyCam for your Florida trips.

that's the point, what would i gain?
plus, i don't think the cost would be worth it. pip isn't worth much, and used bev's don't seem that cheap around here.
more importantly, i don't know if anything has the interior volume of pip.
and of course, i've been babying her for 5 1/2 years.:)

Yep...from an economic standpoint it would be smart to drive it for another 5+ years.

If you ever get rear ended and totaled, you could sell a brand new engine. LOL!

It always gets to something when I'm on a mileage roll. Now that I don't have to fight with daily traffic anymore, I only bought one tank of gas this entire summer (July through September) That's a first. Though I'm down to about 10 miles EV now (est), our fall weather should definitely help with the overall EV miles. No more AC (hopefully soon!). Since it doesn't ever get cold enough to be a concern for heating or cold charging, I'm hopeful that I'll see a little bump in the EV miles.

Not sure what the added charging will do to the state of the battery yet, but I'm not going to worry about it. Honda has a nice PHEV coming in about a month, so that may be an option somewhere down the road if I start losing EV mileage. 10 miles range is enough to get me around town and still get home to recharge, though it'd be great to quadruple that (which is what the Clarity claims to offer).

Arghh!! I could have had a 1000+ mile tank.
We were planning to meet up with out-of-town friends Monday for lunch and I was too low on gas to feel good about driving that far, so I got gas on the way to work that day. I came within one mile of setting a new distance record with 952 miles.

After I got to work, I got an email saying they could meet us closer to work, so we changed it to a nearby place that has great cuban sandwiches ... and is only three miles away. Super-easy battery range!!

Had I waited till today, it would have been 1,022+ miles on the tank and 123.6 raw mpg figured from the pump with a cost per 100 miles (including electricity) of $2.75. Except that if I'd waited till today to get gas, it would have cost $1.41 more for the same amount of gas because the price went up 19 cents right after I bought on Monday.

But I can't complain since, at $2.89 per 100 miles, this was my most cost efficient tank ever. I saved almost $55 compared to a 28 mpg gasser over the same 952 miles. And, I've started the tank with almost 72 miles of gas-free driving, which will come to an end this afternoon when I go to a meeting 20 miles away.

You could just call it 1,532 kilometers.

I wonder if I could talk the wife into that. I'd be up to $989 after 15 months of ownership.

If she did agree, it would be to replace her Prius. You got the last replacement. ;)

Right, and she won't want a Prime. But that's OK.
