When I turn my car off and leave it for a while the vent system is almost always on recirculate when I get back in the car regardless of how it was when I left it. On mild days I like to use the fan and cool outside air to cool the inside of the car so I leave the vents open.

    A repeat of many:
    • LED under-console light
    • All LED external lights
    • Standard USB
    • Re-programmable user settings
    • Customizable displays
    • Dual sunvisor with extender
    • Heat seater button in climate control cluster
    • Lower rear window wiper
    • Full seat-height adjustment (only back adjusts up & down currently)
    • Oil life monitoring to determine OCI (ala GM and others)
    • Standard EBH with a mountable plug point instead of a dongle (I'm considering picking up a driver side fog light blank to create one)
    • Plug-in (unfair since it is coming)
    • Gas tank heater using heat from battery pack for improved atomization at injection (yes, there are some potential dangers, but they can be mitigated)
    • HUD option
    • Temperature sensitive grille block (opens and closes dependent on outside temp and ICE/TM temp)
    • A real Nav system (license out to Garmin or TomTom or Magellan since Toyota cannot get this right with the High School developers they seem to use)
    • Solar skin option (wishlist since I would not want to pay for it :D)

I agree with many already here, especially the under console lighting and 100% LED inside and out. The only thing I can add that I haven't seen yet is built in 110 volt AC power.

Thanks I missed the heated mirrors as standard. When it didn't say heated mirror on the mirror itself I assumed it wasn't there.

When I asked for the key fob trunk release I wanted it like my moms Buick Park Avenue. Hit the button and the trunk unlocks and opens up for you. It is nice when you hands are full of packages. :)

Yeah but I thought there's a dealer-customisable option that turns the "auto recirc" off?

On a hatchback, it'll have to be a power rear hatch. On sedans, some trunk releases simply unlatch the trunk, others unlatch and lift it up slightly and others unlatch and fully open the trunk lid.

So I would need to talk to a dealer to have the problem fixed? I'll keep putting up with it then.

Unfortunately. I test drove the HS250h on Wed. It had a vehicle customisation screen with all the stuff that's customisable on the Prius but instead of going to the dealer, the owner can do it him/herself.

I don't have a Gen III yet, but have test driven it 3 times and I read just about everything on PriusChat.

    So, my big 3:

    1. ability to get the advanced technology package together with the solar cooling option.

    2. better navigation system. Why doesn't Toyota go with the best and install a Garmin system?

    3. A "scangauge" type interface built-into the MFD, with quality, configurable displays like those in the DashDAQ. Gosh - why haven't automakers done this yet?

Because only some of the Prius buyers are engineers, not all of us.

First, a "techie" thing like that would be very useful to many more people than just your average engineering tech nerd like me. I work with many non-technical people, many who love my ScanGauge.

Apply your logic to the ashtray still installed in most vehicles. Only some people are smokers.

Seems like more cars are making them optional or taking them out altogether (like the Prius). Our car is the car of the future.
