When the ICE is ON, the EV Car symbol changes to the Outline of a Car. However, when the PIP is not moving, there is no indication of the ICE running on the Energy Monitor of the Display Audio System screen.

If I'm not moving and the ICE is warming up, why doesn't it display Red lines to the Electric Motor and Green lines to the Battery. Wouldn't you think that it would be charging the Battery if you're not moving.

As soon as you start moving, the Red lines appear, connected to the Wheels and to the Electric Motor and Green Lines to or from the Wheels and Battery, depending on Power needed.

When you're not moving your mpg is zero, lol.
Ken, actually, from my experience, I've seen the charging lines even when stopped. Which tells me that there are times when the gas engine will run but will not be driving the generator to charge the battery. Don't know why though.

This happens to me also. It is frustrating because it is NOT charging the battery. I know this because I can sit for sometime and the battery level will not increase. I would think that if the engine (ICE) needs to run for any reason, it should deliver power to the wheels or to the battery, unless the battery is full.

maybe there are times when they don't want a load on the engine?

Yeah that's my guess. It's possible that the output of the engine is so low that it would not appreciably drive the generator, and they don't want to put extra load on it just for the sake of charging the battery.
