I loved my Prius but since it was totalled I'm considering being open to other options to replace it. I'm comfortable with 100k miles in the Prius to start and need to keep the price below 10k. A few 2010 and 2011's seem to be a possibility. I've also looked seen 2010 Fusion Hydrids in the ballpark.

What similar value/quality would you consider in this price range?

You could consider quite a lot of vehicles. In would all depend on what you want.

    But I would say something.
If you enjoyed your Prius? If you were happy with it?

Nothing you replace it with, is going to give you the same Prius Hybrid attributes.

And I think right now with gasoline prices relatively low, and a New Gen 4 Prius on the market, used Prius are a buyers market. Seems like recently I've seen a lot of threads where people are getting what appear to be pretty great deals on used Prius right now.

If you "loved" your Prius? I'd take the opportunity if you can afford it, to upgrade to the Gen 3. It'll be newer and a change, and I think good deals can be found on them right now.

I'm not going to say anything negative about The Ford Fusion Hybrid, I've never owned one or looked at one too closely. But as far as efficiency coupled with utility, in the Hybrid Market I think Prius still leads the pack.

Good Luck with whatever you decide.

Sounds like a Gen 3 would be perfect.. but you are on PC so that's expected?

I've sometimes thought about what I might replace the '07 with if I had to. I could see myself sticking with HSD, or choosing something with a manual transmission instead (the only thing I miss about conventional cars).

If I went the HSD route, I'd probably look for a used Prius C. I like the more spartan interiors and the prices tend to be lower.

I do really love to flick through the gears, though, so I could head the direction of a manual trans 1st-gen Scion xB (they just grab me), Mazda2 or Mazda3 5-door, Yaris hatch, or similar. I just know it would have to be a liftback or wagon. I rely too heavily on the easy cargo loading. A sedan would probably wear out my back.
