i found a used steering rack online that I intend to have a shop install.

Does it come with an ECU or do you have to buy that separate? The online site does not specify... the following items are listed and sold separately:

    steering rack

ECU right side dash - engine control

    ECU part of battery pack

Which items do you suppose I need to buy?

    Thanks!

If your problem is a jerky steering wheel, typically that will be solved by installing a new steering rack. No other electronics need to be replaced.

This decision may already be made, but given a choice, I would want the donor vehicle to be 2003 model year. There is some reason to believe that they made them better towards the end of the model run.

Our Patrick put a copy of SSC YO5 online - it includes some helpful information if the shop involved does not have experience with steering replacement. Is this something you'd need bjustin?
