Most people realize that the Prius is nicely balanced system, where the power from the engine is matched to the power than can be stored and the power that can be used by the motors. All this while still retaining ultra low emissions.

In that video, they totally removed the Toyota drive train and substituted a racing engine and rear wheel drive. That's not a Prius.

I think the article author means quicker, not faster.

You can add Turbo or Super charging but it will not be a kit, you will hand fabricate it all and I will be amazed if it all fits under the hood.

Once you do that, you will discover that most of the new HP is used to charge the HV Battery, not go down the road quicker.

As far as actually faster, just add larger tires. (grind away the front and rear fenders) Top speed is limited by gearing and the easiest way to change that is by tire diameter. It will be less quick, but faster.

(If this was about Gen 3, a Prius v transaxle would make it quicker, but less fast. Top speed drops to 103 MPH from 115. Final drive goes from the standard Prius's 3.27:1 to 3.70:1 for the Prius v)

Fully agreed. Might I add that Prius Prime is the most hardcore real hybrid system synced out there with the best MPG

If you want to make a Prius quicker off the line, the place to put your attention is the motors and the batteries. You could, theoretically, use the more powerful and faster spinning motors from the Prius Prime design coupled with changing the ICE timing to make it a typical otto cycle, thus adding extra HP to turn the motor/generator. But it's the amount of power that you can pull from the batteries that determine how quickly you get from 0 to 60. As I understand it, the level of power draw from the battery is limited by software.

Someone noted the other day that the Prius Prime is actually quicker on the 0 to 35 than most of the cars that you are likely to be next to at the traffic light. I find that to be more or less true too. In just about every instance, I can either outrun the car next to me or I can let off the "gas" and slip right in behind them.
