Having wanted a Tesla ever since the model S came out I finally made it happen and now own a 2019 Model 3 LR! That means the Prius is out and I won't be checking the forum anymore. Most problem-free car I've driven, just hope the Tesla will be the same. :cautious:

Some stats: 2010 Prius, bought in 2014 with 104.000 km, drove it for 7 years and almost 9 months to 222.000 km. Maintanance was minimal, it never broke, just needed oil changes, one brake job, a set of tyres and at the end the battery needed replacing. Think it was the original one.

    Goodbye everyone!

Several tesla owners still post here as well as those unwashed such as myself who are currently in-between eco-boxes.

If this IS goodbye for now....

    GOOD Luck with the Tesla!

You can always come back here and tell us what we are missing, or provide your guidance for those of us who haven't yet but soon will convert to plug-ins.

Good thing Bisco will never ever leave us no matter what car he drives... He's only 5,044 comments away from from hitting 100K and that's when he gets the grand prize, the ultimate trophy, the greatest gift a PriusChatter can ever get! But what it is it? Yes we'd all like to know! Are the rumors true?

Bisco is over 45% (likes/messages) which is my metric of success. I'm only at 40%

40% is better than me... But that's because I prefer being a jerk who gets less likes... :)

@Maarten28 is over 50% likes/posts. As that is our metric :)

I also hope to hear about E driving in Europe, availability of charging stations and the like.

My last was a 2017 Prius Prime traded in for a 2019 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range. My previous Prius were a 2003 and 2010. I hang around to clarify earlier postings, some of which were technical. But no longer owning a Prius, I do not volunteer anything I can't walk out and put hands on.

Still I enjoy the company of Prius owners who are one of the brighter groups. Perfect, no, but at least we seldom have to explain the basics of physics and math ... except for the occasional, amusing trolls.

Wish I could agree with that! But hey - imperfection is human. PriusChat is a fine place to 'see and avoid' shortcomings including my own. I'd want to say it is the best place but honestly I have not searched for better alternatives. Too busy drift netting new science publications and amusing internet images. Example:

What does a ratio greater than 100% get:whistle:?

Maybe some more trophy points :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL:.

I just want the "start a conversation" function to work again(y).

All three lines took the words right out of my mouth, errr, fingers.

edit to add: BTW, @Maarten28, I hope you'll stick around and share your Tesla experiences. You're not the only one who's been leaning toward a Tesla.

    @Maarten28 ,

When others were ICE buyers and hybrid skeptics, you chose the Prius path of independence and efficiency. Tesla consideration confirms your good judgement joining our community. Your early impressions might help others.

Ok, maybe I will stick around then. :ROFLMAO:

Charging stations are ample. There are currently 36 superchargers in the Netherlands and it is about the size of the state of Maryland. Other fast chargers (up to 350 kW) are also available and of course lots of type 2 chargers. Even some free ones. And going across Europe is no problem with the supercharger network.

That may not be all bad.
Reports and events like the recent one in Texas seem to indicate that our electric grid isn't in very good shape either.
If you are contemplating an EV only vehicle, you might want to think about a sudden and prolonged loss of fuel sources.

I'm a bit too old but if I was going to do that, I would couple my EV car with "full capacity" solar, so that a loss of the grid connection would be just a minor inconvenience instead of a disaster.
