Congratulations on your purchase. The fun part is finding the secret compartment under the trunk/above the spare tire. You can put extra diapers, wipes, etc. in there while taking up no trunk space!

I saw that when I was checking it out at the dealership. :) Spare diaper storage, I love it!

    Congrats and welcome!
My wife now has a Prius with two large carseats in back. It's a bit tight. Definitely no room in middle at least not for a human being. But great space in rear hatch. Can't beat mileage.

Haha. Yeah, I can only see one more car seat in the Prius but that does leave a sliver of room between them then. What car seats does she have in there? This one fit in my Mustang with room for a person up front, as long as they didn't have long legs.

Well, it looks like you have a smaller carseat (rear face) for a little baby ?
We have two front facing carseats now. One is a Britax Marathon and the other is Britax Boulevard. I can't remember which is which, one is a 5 point harness booster seat for our almost 7 year old. The other one is 3.
I also have a Recaro carseat for my 3 year old in my car- a 2014 honda crv.

It helps when they go forward facing, but then their little feet and dirty shoes get to kick all they want! that is my biggest pet peeve. But they do it with my new crv as well. You would need a Limo.

Yeah, he's 14 months now. This is the Chicco Nextfit convertible seat.

How do you like the Recaro? I considered one a while back.

I like the recaro a lot. It's cool. Purple. Love the straps. They seem to be more flexible. Don't get tangled as much. I also read they got great safety ratings, which was of course the most important factor.

That's good. The Nextfit we have has good ratings and will accommodate up to 45 pounds rear facing and 65 pounds forward facing, lasting him well into 2 years rear facing and a long time forward. I wish we could have gotten a prettier color but our Babies R Us has the boring lame popular colors, they didn't have the Nextfit in stock there until recently and the next closest one had it but they were 30 miles away.

We have 2 of these, one for each car. Mine is the two tone grey and my husband's is the black.

    Chicco Nextfit

I wish they had the air flow stuff that is on that Recaro! Poor guy gets so hot in this thing but he's super protected.

    Why won't my link work?

Congrats! I also have the blizzard pearl with the solar roof. It's GREAT for those hot sunny days.

I am amazed more manufacturers don't offer them, as they are a wonderful invention. Last summer I loved not having a hot interior, even on the hottest days.

They really should! It's awesome! I just got my windows tinted yesterday so I can't wait to see how cool it is now! It's been rainy here so the solar roof isn't doing anything.

You don't need fabric protection full of chemicals anyway. For the long haul, just get a good set of made for Prius seat covers front and back. GT Covers makes nice ones. Paint protection is just a good synthetic wax job applied with a bunch of elbow grease :)

    Congrats!

Katskinz (sp?) is very good aftermarket leather.

Stay well behind cars and especially trucks on the freeway ... I learned the hard way going thru windshield change and two weeks battle to get Toyota glass put in, but it worked out.

I will not take mine in for service (tire rotation) again without removing all four wheelcovers...

last service, the tech cracked one of my wheelcovers. It probably happened by yanking on wheelcover to remove it and not using the flat blade of tire iron. Tire iron is necessary as the wheelcovers are a tight fit.

I returned and they immediately gave me a brand new wheelcover, but that was another trip to my dealer. Been going there for 5 years.
Live and learn. Removing wheelcovers gives a chance to clean wheels underneath.

I personally don't like the look of the bare alloys on base Prius as they are designed to have wheelcovers, but that's just my take on it.

Congratulations on the new ride, and for joining PriusChat! You have made a great choice. Enjoy all the extra money you will have left over in gas money! :) I see in the picture that you have placed the car seat towards the outside of the rear seat. It is best for safety reasons to place the car seat in the center of the back seat.
