Improve 70k prius mpg?

    Yes that is fine. And no you don't need to get an alignment before performing the reset. What it does is it also resets the ECU. There's a guy here who was getting low 40s and after performing the reset, his MPG went back up to 53mpg. Just do it, it's completely harmless.

    Hi I already reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes? Is this the same thing or does it also do something else?

    I jacked up the rear and tested the wheels they seemed to spin perfectly fine. Can pm you a vid if you want.
    I did notice what sounds like to be the front breaks squeeking when I'm coming to the end of a stop or breaking harder.

    I did it, but will need to drive a good amount to see if there is a improvement.
    I am getting an allignment tomorrow because car pulls to the right especially at faster speeds.

    A theoretical question, if you had the worst and cheapest tires possible on your prius up to how much mpg could your prius loose.

    How worn are the tires? I’m NOT an expert; this just happened to one of our cars years back: they “might” develop a wear patttern called conicity, which can cause pull to one side. Diagnosis is typ by swapping fronts side-to-side. If pull is gone that supposedly confirms.

    i would say tires can cost you up to 5-6mpg

    I just got these 4 tires a week ago or so. Michelin defenders. At the allignment shop I learned that the front right wheel was 1 inch behind the left on the sub frame, this happened because I ran over a curb with the right wheel and blew the tire. So I had that fixed and did the alignment, much better now.

    So the control arm was damaged...... Hopefully not too expensive.
