This is all very weird. One "the size of a small car" clearly isn't a weather balloon.

I do hope we're not inadvertently starting a war with aliens.

Or at least that we have a very clever diplomat who can make "F-22 fired an AIM-9X" sound inadvertent.

    In Klingon or whatever.

I'm genuinely sorry to have to break this to you, but that's far from the full story.

For a quick summary, have a look at this, from 2013: https://foreignpolicy.com/2013/03/18/the-dark-side-of-mother-teresa/

Or this review of a recent documentary: 'Darker side' of Mother Teresa: A documentary claims she covered up the worst excesses of church - World News or A compelling new series claims there was a much darker side to Mother Teresa | Daily Mail Online. Or watch the documentary itself: it's called "Mother Teresa: For The Love Of God", and is available in three parts on YouTube. It's a Sky Documentary, not some YouTube conspiracy nonsense.

The key issue is that she was obsessed with suffering, and she wanted the patients in her hospitals to suffer. She thought this helped replicate the suffering of Christ. She would withhold painkilling medication from patients. She was given huge amounts of money, but she wouldn't spend it on improving healthcare in her hospitals, because again she wanted her patients to suffer to bring them closer to Christ, so she would just give the money to the Vatican Bank instead. On top of that there are other things - forcing her nuns to engage in self-harm, helping to cover up child abuse to allow the abusers to do it again, and other such delights.

We'd need full Dan Rather level doubletalk for that.

"Well you know those double-deuces, shooting missiles like frosted corn tippers in a weather drum back the mountain down blue and galloping." D. Rather, probably

Q: What would it look like to the rest of the world, if NORAD were to do a software upgrade on their radar data systems to enable routine detection of slow moving, high altitude balloons?

A: Well it would look crazy! They'd be finding balloons every day, and if people were feeling a bit shooty they might think it was an invasion and start routinely knocking down everything they find.

The 'Penguin' is probably good above FL490, and they're just being quiet about it....but why go up there in a 35?
The Raptor is "old" to some but it's still good 'nuff for the job at hand, which is why they have a bunch of them up in Alaska.

The Penguin's first flight was only nine years later than the Raptors and they both had elephantine gestation periods.
The 22 is a an air denial weapon while the 35 is sorta like a Gerber tool.
    Air to mud....
Air to Air in unfriendly skies...
Perhaps a little sneaky-peeky work if your enemy is under-equipped.

Fighter planes are sorta like Rock Stars.
    Sometimes?
    Old ain't old.

The F15 was developed in 1969 (first flown in the mid 70's) and it's still in serial production TODAY.
    F16's are 'older' still...... ;)
