Everything on cars can be repaired and/or replaced if you choose. However, 300K on any "daily driver" is a really good run.
Whatever you decide Da1sy, we wish you the best. ;)

I guess if there are two of us on here who agree with the outlier that techniquely they're no longer an outlier...

@Da1sy have me a call and we discussed possible options.
Car has a P0A80 (replace hv battery) and p3017 (block 7)
Hopefully she'll report back the final outcome.

Are you going to sell it or save it for parts?

I'm with Skibob and definitely an outlier. If you're going to sell it then let everyone know. Or at least that mechanic all the way up North near you. That car is definitely an easy flip, and after about $2,000 of work will get someone another hundred thousand miles down the road. I have a 06 with almost 300,000 and good for another hundred thousand. I have an 08 with 260,000 and not a lick of problems ever, just tires and oil. Your call but at least a good donation to someone in charitable need even for the $1,500 - 2,000 of upgrades on your wisely maintained car.

I would surely have a conversation with the mechanic on your behalf; a little coming back to Jesus realignment.

What? I'm betting with a bucket and some towels is your fix. You have a small leak from the hatch or weld above the 12v battery area. Most on here smell opportunity.
It's very likely that after removing the water and drying out the 12v battery area your Prius will operate fine. The idiot lights will all display if there is water touching or dripping on the positive of 12 v battery.

Uber, I think you missed the point I was making, and the entire thread. Fix the problems surely, and the fix for the water is so simple it's under 50 bucks. But the mechanic was trying to Elud-to / associate this with the failed HV battery and three other completely separate issues, and I doubt she had a problem with the brake anti lock system other than a moist connector on the brake control ECU next to the 12-volt battery And while having added moisture in the bay may have contributed to the bus bars oxidizing there is definitely probably an imbalance in sector 11, or 12 as noted in her codes. A few thousand dollars into that car and another hundred thousand miles might not be worth it for many of us who can afford to go buy a new one, however for those in need, a few thousand dollars into that car be a blessing.

For the money required to fix a car you really like compared to changing to a car you don't really know, I'd go with the devil you know.
As far as the mileage, my wife still loves our ex Taxi Prius and drives it every where if it will carry what we need to pick up or deliver. She has just headed off to Adelaide, a few hundred kms round trip. Even though the ex taxi has over 720,000km on the clock, she still considers it to be ultra reliable. Mileage has very little to do with it, how well it was looked after and serviced is everything, if you know the vehicles history then you know if it has been looked after or not, base your decision on that.
If you know anyone who is handy with a spanner, there are plenty of link on here regarding swapping out the traction battery pack. Up to you if you go for one out of a dismantled wreck or an after market one from 2K1Toaster, I put one from a dismantled wreck into my 2006 Prius and it has performed better than I had expected so $$ to happiness ratios I way in front.
