That it is, but if your going to be in the tire business you should know how it works. There is no different liability to using a 205/50R17 tire than a 215/45R17 tire. If there was than no other tire stores would sell other sizes, it's just a policy of theirs that makes zero sense.

But no gas stations do that?

Does what? Not adjust for temperature, or sell at low margins?

Sure they do, but they went after Costco because that's where the bucks are. Anybody who's been to Costco will notice a disclaimer posted prominently on their gas pumps that reads to the effect of "this pump dispenses gas solely by volume and does not adjust for temperature which may affect the energy content of each gallon pumped."

    Temperature.

I've seen several articles over the years & even a report on TV saying how gas stations don't adjust for temperature since it only costs them more money to do so & it helps the consumer, not them. More people fill up in the warmer afternoon & evening hours vs the cooler morning hours.

Sorry for the thread bump, but your car looks really really good!

Not to mention, the reviews of the tires were awesome and very helpful. I almost want to go do donuts to kill my 15" tires just so I can get CT wheels.

They do work. I've used both the Gen2 center caps & the Gen3 center caps from the 17" wheels.....They also happen to be the same center cap used on the PIP

Here is a nifty calculator online: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.do

There is a difference of 1 MPH on the speedometer when going from 195/65/15 to 215/45/17. So when you think you're going 65 MPH, you're really going 64 MPH. There is a difference of -0.36" in diameter of the tire - not a significant impact in my opinion...

After a lot of searching I found a set of nearly new 2014 ct 17" wheels and tires and swapped them out today. I really like the look and it was easy to move over the TPMS. I am waiting for the Toyota center caps so removed the Lexus ones.

I am seeng a 10-15% drop in FE so far.

    Next up... Lowering springs?

Looks great! Up to you on the springs. If you don't mind the loss of ground clearance then go for it. I wouldn't say it is needed though. :)

Thanks! Just got some Toyota center caps off eBay and had tint done. It's my wife's daily driver - might be time for me to make a trade.

Sorry if I missed this somewhere in the thread.... Are there any issues running these on a second gen? I saw a smoking deal that I might try and jump on. I am assuming I might need to run the 3mm spacers.

The wheels no but I wouldn't suggest the tire size. There may more issues with rubbing on hard cornering. I'm not sure so I can't recommend it.

If the Lexus wheel centerbore is the same as your oem wheels, you can get them on eBay. Search Prius or Yaris center caps.
