My dad and I just took my Hybrid battery (06 Prius) to get cells replaced. Got home, hooked everything up, and now the car won't start. The accessories come on, lights come on, but no start-up. We also got a message about the parking brake, and to park on a flat surface... we were on a flat surface. Any ideas? We are recharging the 12v battery now to see if that has anything to do with it.

Do you have a Mini VCI or any other kind of Prius-capable code scanner to read out the condition of the battery?

Who installed the 'replacement cells' ?
Or do you mean that one person worked on the pack and a different person took it out/installed ?

A clear story would help us help you.

We scanned for codes and there were no codes.
A different guy replaced the cells. 4 to be exact were bad. It was a guy at a repair shop that has done thousands of replacements.

If the orange plug is plugged correctly, then it would only be your 12v battery. Once that's charged, it should fire right up.

I'm skeptical, as the original post reported accessories and lights coming on, and an MFD message....

What did you use to scan for codes? Some scanners will not show you any info from the battery and HV ECUs.

If you do have a Prius-capable scanner, what does it show you for the 14 battery block voltages, the overall min and max voltage and state of charge?
