Integritys with over 35k miles @ 50+psi (pics)

I had the tire pressure argument with the dealer today when I bought my new Michelins. He flipped out when I told him I ran 42/40. I said, "Look at the Goodyears that just came off! The inside was great, outside was bald. At 42/40! You'd think it'd be the reverse." I wish I was armed with you guys pics...would have been more convincing. I immediately drove to the nearest service station and "corrected" the pressure.

 

Which Michelins did you pick up? Can you keep us posted on how you like them and wear at the higher pressures. I've seen plenty on the Integrities holding up just fine at the higher pressures, but very little data on other brands. I took my first cross country trip a week ago and I hit a pretty bad rain storm. Everyone else was pulled over but I felt completely comfortable at 55 mph. Never slipped or loss traction at all. I was going 75 mph the entire trip and slowed down when I hit the rain. I didn't know I was still going 55 mph until I glanced down after a while. I was extremely impressed with the Integrities in the rain on interstate asphalt which surprised me with the amount of negative feedback on them. I was very impressed with the cars power going up hills and passing. 75 mph and still got >45 mpg, love it.

 

I saw a set of OE Integritys on a year old Ford commercial van the other day--they looked about half worn after 70K miles! That's exceptional. The driver said the tire pressures were the Ford recommended set by the dealer.

 

I got the Primacy MXV4 in the stock (185/65R/15) size. I'll post some pics as they wear. My Goodyears lasted 50k but I think they would have lasted much longer had they worn evenly. My alignment guy said there was nothing I could have done differently to make those tires wear any better. Maybe has to do with the weight/setup/load of the Prius?

 

@ 29000, the edges were gone on my Integrity's, Toyota replaced them free because it was documented that they were way bad on the edges from 23000, way too low mileage, but I had to pay for an alignment. I had a choice of Goodyears or Yokohamas. They replaced with Yokohamas. Checking the ratings on both kinds of tires, Yokohamas got a very good rating, Goodyear Integrity's were considered junk. If you got 35000 out of them and they are still in good shape you are an exception. I won't buy Goodyear Integrity's because of this. One friend of mine took the Integrity's off of his Prius @ about 1500 miles and went with Michelins.
