Intermittent knocking sound from engine, 2012 Prius v

    On this last occasion, it was parked overnight in the driveway. On the previous occasions the noise occurred while driving at slow speed -- approaching a traffic light, in a car park. I cannot recall driving it a short distance and shutting it down, will keep it in mind in the future.

    was the car fully warmed up when it happened while driving at low speed?

    afaik, the rattling sound, and diagnosis by air boss is related to cold soak, cold engine start. you may want to have them check/clean your egr and intake manifold. how is your oil level?

    Oil level is well within normal limits. I have seen the EGR problem mentioned on the forum, so that may be worth checking out. This last occasion was definitely a cold start, however the ambient temperature was not cold. I can never reproduce the problem at the Toyota service center, which is frustrating.

    also, ask them if there is a tab on the intake manifold, and show them your video.
