I am a new Prius Owner - of a used 2013 Prius C. (I have no car mechanic experience. I was hoping to get c. 100K miles with this car...)
Most unfortunately the warning lights, noise, and stop immediately sign came on while on the highway 2 days ago. A Toyota dealer / service shop was not far so we had it towed there. They ran the codes -- and say the fuel pump on the inverter-converter failed. They diagnosed it as needing an inverter-converter, a fuel pump, and a 12V battery. The price tag is more than half of what I paid for the car. Is there a chance I will also need to replace the hybrid battery? I am stuck and trying to figure out next steps. Any suggestions?
