    Hello to everybody,

    I have a Prius C (2010) 1.8Lt and the inverter died unexpectively.

Toyota suggestes to put a new Inverter with part number G920049025 which cost €2.500!

I can find some used inverters with part number G920047140 but Toyota don't say if it is suitable for my car.

The only thing I can find from the web is that part G920049025 is newer than G920047140.

Do you know if part G920047140 is suitable without damaging the car? Has anyone tryied it?

    Thank you

    George

@Dikgior , is your car actually a 2010 "Prius C". If I look up the "Prius c" on Wikipedia, it looks like around the world the car debuted in 2012, but I'm not really sure. And 1.8 liter engine infers it's a regular Prius.

You're sure it's out of warranty?

My car is out of warranty. It has been manufactured in December of 2009 and released in 2010.
    the engine is 1.8lt
Should I put the topic to other category?

Item #3 indicates part no G9200-47140 is what's needed. That's when I enter 2010 Prius, here:

HYBRID COMPONENTS for 2010 Toyota Prius

There was a recall involving software update, to better protect the inverter during acceleration. This was applicable to 2010~2011 only, I believe.

So probably the part that Toyota sales is G920049025 because it is the newer version but this doesnt mean that G9200-47140 will damage the car?

Yeah I'm suspecting the newer version is made more robust? And if you have the software update you're ok with original inverter. Just speculating like you. Our build date was August 09, and we got the software update, no problems so far. The letter we got from Toyota (Canada) about this was dated March 2014, and had reference no SOSH-230-1A.

Hybrid components have 10years of warrranty (here) longer then the rest of the car ... shame on Toyota if they shortchanged eu people -:)

But sure your car is NOT a Prius C

I'm having the same problem with buying my Prius plus 2014 inverter, alot of different part codes for the same part, did you have any luck with one with a different part number or did you replace inverter with one with same part number

How long is the parts warranty for the Prius plus in the UK?

Did you ever get inverter sorted? I have the same issue on a 2014 Prius plus ATM, not sure what other part numbers I can use
