Just curious... Has anyone been invited to join the Toyota Owner's Intersection? Do they send this to everyone, or is just a select few? Here is the invitation I received...

    Dear ****** ******,

Welcome to the Toyota Owners’ Intersection.

The board is a community of select Toyota owners who are directly involved in the ongoing evaluation and development of Toyota products and services in order to make the ownership experience even better. If you are a Toyota owner, and if you are the primary driver of your vehicle, we are very interested in your opinion and your participation in the Toyota Owners' Intersection.

Your contribution as a member of this exclusive group is greatly valued and appreciated, and your membership will begin upon completion of this short survey. In turn, we will keep you informed of important research studies that are most relevant to you.

As a token of our appreciation, when you complete this survey you will be entered into our sweepstakes drawing for a chance to win one of six Amazon.com gift cards valued at $100 each.

Please complete this short survey to join the panel!

    Thank you!

    The Toyota Owners' Intersection Team

I haven't but I've participated in a total of 4 paid research focus groups/consumer research studies since taking ownership of a Prius.

I joined the group and logged into the website. There are links for Blogs, etc, but nothing actually is listed. I thought it might be a new thing... Can't wait to get invited to answer some questions and hopefully help Toyota get even better.

We own two Prii and replaced an 07 with a 13. Guess I'm not biased toward Toyota though! LOL

I got bad news for you guys. They invited me. So much for it being "exclusive." If they'll let this dog in, they'll let anybody in.

You're missing absolutely nothing. It's basically a blank page.

I declined joining. I am a member of other research groups that pay well for the time it takes to give your opinion, so I stick with those. :) I don't like the surveys where you are entered into a drawing, because for all the ones I have completed like that, I have never won anything. I think they are just a gimmick.

I have been doing customer discussions and surveys for about 3.5 years now with them.
It's kind of interesting and I do think it has some impact on some of the things they are looking at doing in the future.
I have received a couple of free gifts for doing it as well.
One discussion discussed gift options at purchase like floor mats, cargo mats, bumper protection etc. And the ability to choose 2 "gifts" when you purchase.
Another cool one for Scion... I am in their panel as well, they have an awesome plan in the works where you can "rent" a car free from Toyota for 5 days a year for the first 2 years you own a Scion depending on your needs. Minivan, truck, full size sedan, sounds like a really neat program, not that I will probably buy another Scion but I thought it was a neat idea, and if they do it for Scion maybe they will allow Toyota purchasers to do it as well.
You can rent a vehicle, free with insurance, with 48 hours notice for 1-5 days, 5 days per calendar year.

Sometimes the panels are boring, but most of the times they are asking for detailed opinions on features of the cars.
I will continue to do it, as long as I own Toyota.

Interesting. So, over 500 people have viewed this, and nine have replied. Could it really be that few are invited? Hmmm... Anyone else?

Not sure how they choose who participates. I owned an '07 and they asked me to do a survey via email a little over a year ago, five and a half years after my purchase.. But, it wasn't titled Toyota Owner's Intersection. Maybe they changed it to look more like Toyota than a third party to get more people to participate...

Following registration of my Prius, an invitation to join Toyota Intersection was in my in-box. Several surveys have been completed over the past year. The latest was related to suggested improvements...duh, interior quality, sound insulation and rattles stand out for just about every owner. However, the argument that you should just buy the Lexus CT200 is no longer valid, as the competition has much nicer interiors. Perhaps the weaker Yen will result in less cost cutting. Overall, the surveys allow one to at least gain insight into concerns of the company and where the Prius is heading in the future.
