When i get a text on my phone i get a alert and the system reads the message to me (quite nice). There is then an option to reply with pre-defined messages. When i hit send i get "There was an error sending the message".

    Anyone get this to work?

i was wondering about that, i have the 4 but this should be an IOS issue, not a hardware issue. Let us know if the 5 works when you try it.

It worked fine for me on beta 3, but I haven't tried it on the released version. Of course it only worked when the car was stopped... So not hugely helpful. I have iPhone 4S

Apple doesn't support the reply function so it won't work, stopped or while driving.

Yeah, messages come through, you just can't use the reply functions.

I just tried my iPhone 5 and the messaging function does't seem to work at all on my V5ATP. It shows MAP support but the MESSAGING button in the setup screen is not there. Not just greyed out, but missing entirely. Did you have to do anything special to enable this?

Vinoh - Do you have notifications enabled for Messages?

Yep. However, I'll play around with it today to try disabling and reenabling it, redoing pairing, etc. Thanks.

Works now for receiving messages (not sending) although I have no idea why since I didn't change anything.

I am not receiving or send IMs with IOS6 and my iPhone 4. Is this just me?

    1. Check your Messages notifications settings. Notification center is linked to the messages being sent to the car.
    2. Power off / on the phone.
    3. Re-pair the phone to the system.
    4. Send yourself a text message after the car is on and paired. Only NEW messages come through.

Somewhere in there it should start working.
