    Is a 2012 PIP w/ a quarter million miles worth $7k?

Realistically what would this be worth?

Any way to test battery capacity without an overnight charge?

Also do most Gen IIIs end with “head” failures or are there any 300k + examples without any major engine work?

    Thanx
    Ryan

I started @ $7500 or best offer with my 2012 PIP with 220K miles.

Very little inquiries...No showings...Put it on eBay for $5300 no reserve and got 2 bids before I ended up cancelling ad, deleting Craigslist ads, and keeping it.

If the condition is immaculate I'd say $6500-$7000 is a good price. Just 1 grand here or there makes a huge difference. So my 2012, despite needing a good cleaning on the inside, not coming with charger, tires not having much life left, and various other wear/tear on exterior. I would say $5500 to $6000 would be market rate for mine. And you'll get about $1000 to $1500 more for one that is in superior condition in/out with similar miles.

Anytime I've checked online I have yet to see one for under $9000. But miles usually 150k or less.

The only concern I have is when I go to resell mine a year or two down the road I'll be lucky to get 4k...Limited pool of buyers willing to pay thousands of dollars for a high mileage car even though the high mileage / low mileage cars basically look/drive the exact same for a massive discount.

i don't think so, but i guess whatever the market will bear. what would make it worth it for you?

no way to test the battery that i know of.

head failures are relatively uncommon, but i don't know how many high mileage gen 3's are out there. maybe research some threads here. i think most any car with a quarter million miles is due for problems.

Just for entertainment. What is a a 2012 plug in worth with over 200k? Not what it is worth to you (obviously not much) but on the free market.

    A few points to consider:

    1) Zero on planet earth under $10,000 with a clean title (slight exaggeration but incredibly rare to find under 10k and basically non-existent under 7k)

    2) gen 2s with 160-180k still fetch over $5000 in some markets.

    3) the plug-in conversion by itself which many specialty shops do is a $7500 mod if I remember correctly.

PS: Can I buy your plug-in when it hits 200k for $3000? :D

    yes!:)

and again, if there is no value that can be placed on it, we're back to what it is worth to you.

if i could look at a service like kbb or nada and find a value, great. but it still is only worth what someone will pay me for it.

btw, i have no problem with your good price valuation of $6-7,000.
what i do find interesting though, is how they are giving away low mileage pips, and yet, the value seems to stall at some point in mileage and the price doesn't keep going down?
