    True dat!

But isn't it cool that there's a car forum that's still thriving long enough for necroposts on 10-year old and sometimes even older threads? And I saw at least two participants who are still very active here. Gotta love that even while I roll my eyes at the necroposts.

Edit to addd: as to the original question -- best cars I've ever had, especially the Prime. Never regretted any of them.

I've never been sorry that I bought either of my Prius. I was sorry after I traded my 2002 model in on a Prime in 2019 simply because I'd grown attached to it.

I have no regrets about buying my Prime either. I like it quite a bit. :)

Same. After 4 Prii, still no regrets. Do I yearn for other cars, sure. But purchasing any of the Prii has always been the "safe bet" against future gas prices and they were technologically advanced. I said "were" since they're starting to lose their edge (Teslas being the new tech kid in town) but they still have a good balance of price, efficiency, tech and practicality.

It's nice that this forum doesn't automatically kill old posts like some forums do.

Yes and no, I love the car itself but over time ran into some issues.

    1. Stock prius is too low.
-ok so I fixed that with a lift kit and tires

    2. I live in SF and LA
For the life of me I cannot get my car up my driveway without peeling out.
Traction on, traction off doesn't matter.
Work around is go 30 mph past my neighbors house and hit the climb fast, still makes noise but for 1 second.
-should have purchased the awd version but it wasn't out in 2017, at least in the US

    3. Cargo space is limited due to battery

All in all, I will be selling it and buying a Rav4 prime or similar hybrid suv in the future.
Toyota also stating recently that they are hesitant on investing heavily on EV in the near term also should be factored into decision making.
They went from a world leader in EV hybrid tech to now stating... Ehh we will wait.

Wow. that must be some driveway! At 1/2 between SF and LA you should be around Paso Robles or San Luis Obispo. At that latitude there's never snow, little or no ice. Is the driveway loose gravel, old smooth concrete, a dirt road or something like that?

Mine gave me no problems in Oregon during the winter months. Even driving up a steep asphalt drive in the rain.

    Corrected that statement for clarity.
The driveway is in San Fran.
It's concrete with swirl grooves for traction but the grade is 25% or more.

That looks like a house we lived in near Scotts Valley. When there were dead pine needles in the driveway my dad's Chevy Nomad station wagon had a hell of a time. He also had to goose it to get enough speed to coast over the slick spots. Ah yes... Good times. :)

Wowsers! My neighbor in Honduras had a concrete driveway that was about a 30º slope. When it was wet, I couldn't get my truck up there in 4-wheel drive.

I wonder if you'd get more weight on the traction wheels if you went up it backwards.

I thought about it, I even removed the tint on my rear window+front windows for my partner.

I realized it would be unrealistic to do that everyday.
