You can't be serious. The WH ONLY thinks of themselves, and how everything affects thier power base.

For a more balanced perspective, suggest the following:

American politics and business: Obama v BP | The Economist

Also, this perspective adroitly states problems with the handling of this:

Obama's thuggery is useless in fighting spill | Washington Examiner

Anytime you cite as an example a reference that includes any or all of the right wing (nut) buzz words, such as "socialist/Marxist/Thug/Thuggery from opinion sources with an admitted editorial bias you risk losing credibility. The Washington Examiner is a right wing give away paper published by one of the richest men in America, Philip Anshultz, and given away in the D.C. area. Not exactly a paragon of objective journalism or opinion. [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Washington_Examiner]The Washington Examiner - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

It is probably also worth noting, that Philip Anshultz made a considerable amount of money,,,in the oil drilling business! He has then taken to spending a considerable amount of money supporting right wing, christian causes. From Wiki:

    "Political and Christian activism

Often identified as "Christian billionaire Phil Anschutz"[21], he is a Republican donor who supported George W. Bush's administration. He has been an active patron of a number of religious and conservative causes:
Helped fund Colorado's 1992 Amendment 2, a ballot initiative designed to overturn local and state laws that prohibit discrimination against individuals on the basis of sexual orientation but was invalidated by Romer v. Evans after it passed.[22]
Helped fund the Discovery Institute, a think tank based in Seattle, Washington that promotes intelligent design and criticizes evolution.[23]
Supported the Parents Television Council, a group that protests against television indecency.[23]
Financed and distributed films with Christian themes, such as Amazing Grace and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, for mass audiences through his two film production companies and ownership of much of the Regal, Edwards and United Artists theater chains.
Financed The Foundation for a Better Life.
In 2009 Anschutz purchased the conservative American opinion magazine The Weekly Standard from Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation.[24]
    [edit]"

So here is a right wing christian, who doesn't believe in evolution, who most likely believes in "end of times" and therefore thinks the earth and it's resources are there for us to extract at our will regardless of the environmental costs because as James Watt said (sic)" that god put it there for use to use, and we should use it up before the end times make it too late" So no, I don't think I'll use this guy as much of an authority of good public policy, nor whether or no the current administration is doing a good job or not!

The Economist, on the other hand is a well respected journalistic endeavor. It is admittedly a "conservative" magazine, but it is not overtly anti Obama as many of the right wing press in the US. are. It should also be noted that it is published in the UK, and the economic fallout of the disaster is falling hard in the UK, and many in the UK are accusing the US of British bashing rather than BP bashing. The fear is that we are being too hard on BP, and that is hurting the British. My answer to that is, too bad. Nearly 50% of BP is owned by US citizens so it i hurting us more, both on our shores and in our pocketbooks!

So, no I am not joking!

Isn't it the Heritage foundation that made a laughing stock out of themselves by proclaiming off-sea drilling safe just weeks before this disaster ?

That was Obama claiming that offshore drilling was safe.

That story you linked is from 2008. You OP'd "weeks before" and you were mistaken ,because it was in fact Obama who spoke weeks prior to the blowout about the safety of offshore drilling .

Then there the moronic Bobby Jindal standing in front of the camera last night, lauding the courts overturning the drilling ban! Our folks have to get back to work, pay no attention to the oil slick behind the screen! What a piece of work.

And then there is the Pensacola news organization, giving the morning "tar ball" report. It was almost funny if it wasn't so sad. "Only a few tar balls on our beaches this morning, come on down to enjoy our white sand" (I'm not blaming the Pensacola Chamber of trying to keep the tourists coming).

Excuse me for referencing right wing propaganda such as NPR, but ...

I think Jindal is playing all sides of the issue. Early on, NPR played some interview excerpts than sounded as if Jindal was expecting to shake BP down for funds to completely restore the entire coastline to perfect health, a standard it hasn't meet in generations. I think he had a bunch of prior restoration projects languishing for lack of resources, and he suddenly found his shipload of gold.

But later when the drilling halt was announced, his only concern was the loss of a huge number of jobs in a big industry. If he betrayed any hint of a connection between those jobs and the long term habitat destruction his state has faced, I missed it.
