Is instant death for G3 Prius preventable?

    "Do not under any circumstances shift the shift lever to “Râ€, “N†or push the “P†position switch while the vehicle is moving. Doing so can cause significant damage to the transmission and may result in a loss of vehicle control."


    I suspect quite a few vehicle operating manuals are overly influenced by corporate lawyers. IMO, another issue that may cause a Toyota manual to be confusing is translation from Japanese. For example in the above statement, "...shift the shift..." could have been stated as, "move the shift lever".

    Same verbage exists in all owners manuals. Don't try it.
