Is loose green tea too much trouble? I've been using teabags myself.

Oh Bunny, now old people are getting thier prescriptions and tea from third world countries.

Could tea be cheaper up there? Maybe it's the litigation in our legal system. Tea liability insurance in the US is probably pretty high.

    Dave, I have this infuser:

    Teavana® Perfect Tea Maker (16oz.) - Teavana

It is very easy. You can boil water and pour it in, or I believe you can put water in and do the microwave. I've had it for over a year now and everything is still great.

In addition to the infuser, I have the pretty glass cup pictured in the website, but you can fit the infuser over any type of cup. I have really cut down on the amount of coffee I drink since I got this infuser and started ordering their teas. (Though their teas are ruinously expensive and I haven't heard great things about their green teas--I stick with the mate and rooibos varieties.)

I've got an infuser that someone gave me at work, kept at work.

I've never ordered tea I get it from the local health food store and it is expensive.

Yep, I need to switch back to tea. Coffe doesn't taste as good and makes me a baaaad person.

Tea balls are for plonkers. Get a bloody basket. They're easy to clean, easy to use. Only communists use tea balls. ;)

When I said "tea ball" in previous posts, I really meant basket.

Bunny, this just keeps getting more and more interesting.

    Tea bags = good

Loose leaf tea in tea basket = very good

    Heavy drinking = excellent

Your opinion is automatically invalidated by your British slant. Why, I imagine you even put *milk* into your tea, god forbid. :D

No, that's criminal, like shagging goats when there are perfectly good sheep around. ;)

Tea in a basket in a tetsubin is great. One teaspoon of loose leaf green tea will swell about 3 times its original size. In a ball you won't get the full effect. Flavor is GREAT! Of course my wife says she likes Liptons better.

I don't care much for Lipton. I find it very bitter.

Hey! A little good-natured ritual sacrifice never hurt anyone.

I don't like drinking Liptons hot but it's ok for making decent iced tea. The best iced tea however is made from Australian grown black tea. Very strong flavor. Almost smoky. I managed to smuggle back a few boxes of the "Billy Tea" brand loose tea. I can't fathom why real fresh-brewed iced tea hasn't caught on in Australia. All they sell is that sugared up, flavored Nestea made-from-tea-dust crap. What the hell??

A little bit o' lapsang souchong perhaps?

That stuff is like drinking a campfire that you steeped for about 10 minutes! I prefer black teas too. Green teas are tolerable unless they're Japanese green tea, then they're shite. The blacker oolongs are really good too.

The only ones I DON'T like are the Egyptian Chamomile and lemon.
My favorite green is Tropical Cyclone from The Birds & The Teas. Darjeeling Earl Grey is what I have when I want something a bit strong but not coffee.
