Good point... The problem is the atmosphere itself is rotating with us, but there is always a degree of resistance.... have you ever considered why most weather systems move from west to east?.... are the weather systems moving? or is the ground underneath it? If the earth suddenly stopped slow enough that we wouldn't all be slug into oblivion, we would have instant storms hundreds of miles per hour racing over our planet.... among other obvious problems that would incur!

There are many other variables at play... high and low pressure cells, jet streams, but all in all it appears the earth moves underneath the atmosphere.

But rather than get totally lost in disagreements about meteorolgy and other issues, the point I wanted to makes is we need to look outward at many many alternatives at our disposal.

True, we are addicted to oil, but what we are really addicted to is energy... its the age we live in. Rather than freak out about what we are running out of... we need to also put money towards what we have.

We have energy all around us!
Our real problem is no one is willing to develop what would be "free energy".. unless it can be sold for a profit, no one wants to make it happen!

Like I said... go rent the movie "chain reaction"... you'll like it!
