I guess, as one of those 90% of the rest of the world, I didn't know my standard of living was so bad.

I live on a lovely old farm with oak trees planted about 150 years ago, and I'm pretty happy that someone took the time to think of future generations while planting them. (I even researched to find out who it was.) Did people 3 or 4 generations ago have a longer view of what was important?

I can only agree with you. At least mine with be a low volume flush unit, filled with gray water!

I think that they did. I see it in my business - people now all think about short term gains, very few people take the long view.

So how does that relate to the game - it means we all go down the sewer because we will not convince enough people to take the long view - everyone wants short term satisfaction and gratification - "when do we want it - we want it now". How often have we heard that cry?

.............Think living in New Delhi in the 60's but cleaned up a little. Not nice, but not fatal....

Think living in a small town in the midwest in 1940's and 50's. It really wasn't bad. Indeed, it was great and if I could go back and take my wife, kids and grandchildren with me I would do it in heartbeat. It was a wonderful life.

That said, I have a house by the beach and another in the mountains. At age 73 I use a bunch of computers, Mac & Windows, and I am online most of the time. I am damn lucky! Would I give it all up for the life I lived as a country kid in America right after WW II? ....You betcha'........if my family could go with me!!

I have spared the earth of having to deal even more human beings buy making the definitive decision to not procreate. The last thing this world needs is another human being on it. And in my opinion if you want to save the planet then make an appointment with your urologist and pay the specialist $40 copay and snip snip no more babies.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Hybrid vehicles are great and all but it does nothing to check the exponential population growth that started with the onset of the industrial revolution and exacerbated with the onset of the internal combustion engine. It blows my mind that the world’s population has quadrupled in the last 100 years and if it continues at this rate we will be looking at far less than 220 years from now and the peak of the problem will manifest itself in the life span of the generation born today before retirement age. This is the great paradox of our time.

Those that are responsible will be outnumbered by those who are not. They've gone from "divide and conquer" to "multiply and take over the world".

Perhaps, like algae blooms, they will topple from their own mass, and self-extinctiate.

We will live on a pile of our own garbage, water our plants with Gatorade, and have an average IQ of a chimp.

Nature weeds out those SUV driving retards by no longer providing resourses to deliver food to grocery stores in order to feed there fat a$$. And as for the rare and few environmentalists left they will be considered the high holy shamans of the new world because they hold the awnsers to how to survive in the natural world.

Come to think of it we are not that far away from watering our plants with Gatorade with all of the junk we give plants.

Sara Palin is proof that we are not far away from this all becoming reality.
